Leaving Bear Canyon Senior Center at 8:30 am, we arrived at the parking area at 9:15. 10 enthusiastic and friendly hikers started on the trail. We were delighted by the appearance of two bucks soon after starting on the trail. While hiking we were serenaded by Hermit Thrushes and Chickadees. Numerous wildflowers dotted the sides of the trail. We saw California Columbine, Rocky Mountain Penstemon, Wall Flower and Wild Geranium. This cool and shady trail offered stunning vistas. Arriving at Del Agua overlook we stopped for refreshments. The walk back, while up hill, was very pleasant with cool breezes wafting over us. We arrived at the van at 12:45 and at the Center at 2pm. Thank you Sunita for driving. Total distance was 4.5 miles.
