Only four people showed up for this urban hike so we didn’t use the van. It was the first time I had led this hike starting at the Bear Canyon Senior Center. After taking a half-mile segment that led nowhere, we finally got on Lagrima de Oro Rd and headed east, turning left onto Morris then right after crossing the arroyo. After that, it was the usual Bear Canyon Arroyo hike for a total of 5.7 mi.
The day was perfect for hiking – very little wind and clear skies. The bear sculpture was draped with holiday greenery (see photo). We stopped at Flying Star for brunch and returned to the center around noon.
