Our Hiking Groups Old

Most senior centers and fitness centers have only one hiking group. For these centers, the group abbreviation is the same as the center abbreviation. For the centers that have more than one hiking group, the group abbreviation is the center abbreviation followed by one or more letters indicative of that particular group. For example, the Palo Duro Senior Center’s Saturday hiking group’s abbreviation is PDSCS, PDSC plus S for Saturday.

BCSC. Bear Canyon Senior Center, 4645 Pitt NE, 505-767-5959. BCSC hikes every other Thursday meeting at 8:00 AM and leaving at 8:15 AM and alternates with NVSC. This group hikes all year. Call the center to sign up and reserve a seat. Drop-ins will be accommodated if van space is available and no special hiker limits will be exceeded.

HSC. Highland Senior Center, 131 Monroe NE, 505-767-5210. HSC hikes every other Tuesday meeting at 8:00 AM and leaving at 8:15 AM and alternates with PDSCT. This group hikes all year. Call the center to sign up and reserve a seat. Drop-ins will be accommodated if van space is available and no special hiker limits will be exceeded.

LV-FIT. Los Volcanes 50+ Sports & Fitness Center, 6500 Los Volcanes NW, 505-839-3710. LV-FIT hikes every other Wednesday meeting at 8:00 AM and leaving at 8:15 AM and alternates with NDB-FIT. The hiking season for this group is April through October. Sign up in advance at the Palo Duro Fitness Center located at 3351 Monroe NE, 505-880-2800. Once you have filled out registration form and liability waiver for the hiking season, you can call 505-880-2800 to reserve. (You may leave a cancellation message on the PD-FIT voicemail system.) If the trip is full and you’re on the wait list, you can show up the morning of the trip and become eligible to go if there is a ‘no show’ from the roster.

LVSC. Los Volcanes Senior Center, 6500 Los Volcanes NW, 505-836-8745. LVSC hikes every other Friday meeting at 8:45 AM and leaving at 9:00 AM and alternates with NDBMC. This group hikes all year. Call the center to sign up and reserve a seat. Drop-ins will be accommodated if van space is available and no special hiker limits will be exceeded.

NDB-FIT. North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center, Fitness Room, 7521 Carmel NE, 505-764-6496. NDB-FIT hikes every other Wednesday meeting at 8:00 AM and leaving at 8:15 AM and alternates with LV-FIT. The hiking season for this group is April through October. Sign up in advance at the Palo Duro Fitness Center located at 3351 Monroe NE, 505-880-2800. Once you have filled out a registration form and liability waiver for the hiking season, you can call 505-880-2800 to reserve. Hikes are open to all 18+ and 50+ Multigenerational Center members and 50+ Senior Center members.

NVSC hikes every other Thursday meeting at 8:00 AM and leaving at 8:15 AM and alternates with BCSC. This group hikes all year. Palo Duro Fitness Half-Day Hikes begin on Friday mornings in April 2020 with 3 Beginning Hiking classes and continue as Half Day Friday Hikes through May. The Half day hikes will start again in the fall on Fridays from early September through the last week in October. We meet at 8 AM, leave at 8:15 AM and return by 1:00 PM.
