Variation: Adding extra mile – going down the steep hill
Highlights: Hike along the edge of a mesa with sandstone formations. Views of Cabezon to the south and the many volcanic formations receding in the distance down the Rio Puerco valley. It’s enchanting and hard to beat.
Cautions: Steep dropoffs. Not much shade.
